Welcome to the wonderful world of the Scarlet Sisters Circus! - Orange County's first female circus family! Real life sisters Jennifer and Jessica Dempsey started the company in Feb 02 and since then have expanded to a company of seven stiltwalkers, acrobats, contortionists, knife jugglers, unicyclists and trapeze artists! 2005 was a busy year for the Scarlet Sisters Circus, what with a third season at the Rosebowl Fanfest in Pasadena, fifth season at the Sawdust Festival, repeat performances for CompIQ, the Walnut Renaissance Faire and the Festival of Arts in Laguna; a spate of performances throughout southern California including the Houstons in Palm Springs, the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, LA Fitness grand opening in Chula Vista, the Central Park Halloween Festival in Santa Margarita, the Corona Del Mar holiday celebration, the Jazz Fall Festival in Torrance, 4th of July parade in Newport Beach, the Global Village Festival in Irvine - not to mention, way too many birthday parties to count! Whew! The Scarlet Sisters also traveled stateside throughout the summer with a tour of performances at the Calaveras County Fair, Tehama District Fair and the Del Norte County Fair. On the international front, the Scarlet Sisters traveled to Northern Ireland where they were featured performers for the 20th Anniversary of the Belfast Circus. In July they hosted nine young people from WAVE, Northern Ireland (Widows Against Violence) for a circus exchange with families from Orange County. |

The Scarlet Sisters also provide circus workshops at schools, neighborhood parks and community centers. Ranging in ages from 3-12 years old, children from these workshops perform with the Scarlet Sisters at festivals, nursing homes and retirement centers. The Scarlet Sisters Lost Mermaid: She-pirates Scarrrrlet 1 and 2 are looking for the buried treasure and only the Mythical, Magical Mermaid knows how to find it! But the Mermaid is deep in the bottom of the ocean and only some brave deep sea divers can find her! With the help of Sea Frogs, Sea Turtles, Eels, Octopus and other sea critters from the audience, the Scarlet Sisters find the Mermaid - only to discover they had the buried treasure all along! 45 minute interactive show that includes acrobatics and juggling. The Scarlet Sisters are proud to announce their new aerial acrobatic amazement: "Harmony French on Corde Lisse." This ravishing rope aerialist will astound audiences as she defies gravity and denies fear, climbing and contorting in the french tradition of the legendary corde lisse act.
